Welcome to Nordberg & VanDenBerg,Inc., a fee-based Registered Investment Advisor since June of 2007.
Our firm has two principles, Eric Nordberg and Curt VanDenBerg, with over 35 years of combined experience in providing investment advice. We manage both retirement and non-retirement accounts for individuals, as well as assets for trust accounts, endowments and foundations, profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans, and a variety of small-business retirement plans.
Our approach to investing is very different from many in the investment community. We believe that the most important part of the ongoing investment process is risk management. A great deal of our research focuses on identifying, assessing and prioritizing areas of risk so that we can take steps to minimize or eliminate the potential for those areas to negatively affect our client's portfolios.
In the process of building and managing our client's accounts we use a "Tactical Asset Allocation" approach. While we believe that it is very difficult to achieve consistent performance using either a "buy and hold" or an "active trading" strategy, we believe that a moderately active strategy like "Tactical Asset Allocation" is beneficial in helping our client's meet their objectives. Our goal in using this strategy is to create additional value to our clients by periodically rebalancing accounts as well as taking advantage of certain "special situations" in the marketplace that present themselves from time to time.
